Dr René Roux

I work as a Medical Oncologist based in Oxford and the Chilterns and specialise in the management of a broad range of systemic treatments for breast and ovarian cancers. I completed my medical training in Cape Town, South Africa and have subsequently completed specialist training through the Royal Marsden, University College London and have been in Oxford since 2016. I undertook research at the Institute of Cancer Research and am the Principal Investigator for several national and international clinical trials in breast and ovarian cancer.

I am the Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) chair and operational lead for the OUH Trust and the Gynae sub-speciality research lead for the Thames Valley Research Network. I am affiliated with ESMO, the Association of Cancer Physicians (ACP), The Royal College of Physicians, UKBCG, UKGOM  and BGCS.  I am also a member of the British Menopause Society and the Oncology lead in the Oxford Specialist Oncology Menopause MDT. This was developed as we recognized the need for specialist, multi-disciplinary input for patients affected by the menopause due to their cancer and its treatment.
